The long winter nights lit by a full moon create an ere light at the ranch. There is a lot of activity by the pond as the deer and fox silently gather for a drink. The owls perch high in the ancient oaks and call to each other. A full moon is magnetic in its power to draw me outside to be part of the magic. This evokes a desire to sing a song of well-being and longevity, a song to gather my pack.

Our reflection in the wilderness as seen in the moonlight speaks to the alternate world that may exist only in our dreams. Or it may be a reality accessible by changing our perspective. How we frame a self- image may change our experience from being out of balance to bringing into balance. It may be as simple as looking at our lives by moonlight.

I am fascinated by images reflected in water, the mirror quality seems real but can be distorted by the faintest breath of wind or by a petal landing in the water sending concentric circles out then bouncing back from shore.

If we imagine a reflected world, an alternate reality, in which roles are altered. The curious flock of sheep are listening to the wolf’s song. There is no fear, they are listening to the song with open hearts. The ancient prophet Isaiah (11:6) fore told a world of peace in perfect balance. “The wolf also shall dwell with the lambs”.
